If I could turn back time...

Was watching a TV show where 2 characters who were in a relationship were shouting hurtful words at each other.... firing them like rounds of a machine gun..... each statement more hurtful than the last.... until one of them says something so awful, that the other character are left speechless.... the scene finished on the note of stunned silence.

Too often in our lives, we wish that we could turn back time. Especially angry words.... aimed at hurting and causing maximal harm... and especially from those we care about because they know exactly where the weakness in our chainmail lies...

Can the same thing be said about other "negative" karma-ric words? .... accusations, lies (thats another blog in itself) and even grumpiness?

Once said, or sent in email, or via sms... whether expressed overtly, or subtlely... can we truly take those words back? Whether we truly forgave the other person... will their words echo in our minds everytime a disagreement occurs?

Words said in anger.... are usually THE truth... That's why they hurt so much.... for the person who is saying it... its a release to say it... because it is the one thing that we/they "tolerated" time and time again, that we/they allow to eat us up inside by churning it up in our mind, the one thing that we/they dont want to say when we are considerate...

So rather than say "please forgive me".... or "I didnt really mean it"... or "I was just feeling XYZ"... or wishing one could turn back time so we can take back certain words.... what CAN we do?

We are "human" afterall.... so we cant always be happy, or feel agreeable everyday and towards everyone. But we can learn to forgive and forget little things every day to stop the frustrations building up in our minds.... we can practice this with every challenge that is thrown in our way... be it a "silly" phonecall, or a car driving 50 in a 70km zone, people who queue jump.... its hard.... I know!

But is it not more real and more within our control than trying to reverse the time-space continnum?
