Man the God

Joke: What's the difference between a surgeon and God?
Answer: God doesn't think He's the surgeon.

At a conference and walking around beautiful New Zealand.... its not hard to see why Man thinks he's God.

Flying into Christchurch... amazing snow capped mountains.... with farming land leading up literally to the foot of the mountain. What must have once been lucious, beautiful, green forests... are now farming land. Pretty in a man-made way.

Hearing about cosmetic surgery - how man tries to defy gravity and the aging process ... doctors snipping here, injecting there, cutting here... using so much resource and energy to satisfy people's vanity.... and then thousands of dollars later, with inherent risks of surgery and anaesthetics.... and a few years later.... Its back to square one. Gravity wins.

Then the snow.... to boost tourism... we spend thousands of watts, again natural resources.... to make man-made-snow.... which would create more global warming... which would melt more snow.... Doenst make sense to me.... (yes, I know, I'm doing some skiin here too)

And my pet peeve... walking past shops at night.. to find that an empty shop is well lit... what a waste of electricity!

Sometimes it makes me wonder.... will we wake up one day and realise that we're not God!
